Craptastic!

It's officially my new favourite word!
This day has sucked.  Except for lunch...I had yummy thaï :)

Baby has a fever of 104.  Not fun.  Especially when Daddy is working tonight.  But we managed.  The few hours I spent with him tonight were looooong.  He would NOT be anywhere else but glued to me.  Which is nice, I have to say.  Except when he cried.  I figured he was hot so I changed him into something lighter and he was ok after that.  I even had time to eat dinner really quickly!

Gave him some Advil and put him to bed.  I think he fell asleep in less than 2 minutes.  Sweet!  He's probably going to wake up crying lots during the night, though.  That's why it's 7:35 PM and I'm going to bed very soon :)

Goodness....I'm sitting here typing and the tv is on.  At a kid's channel of course.  I just spent 2 minutes watching Rupert and was totally absorbed.  I need to get to bed....or get a life! ha!

Mom's wedding pics to come.  I don't have a lot, but there's a few I can post.  The cake turned out amazingly good!

Nighty night, sick friends!! xoxo

Free the miners!!

As of right now, 10 miners are above ground!  Still 23 to go at this time.

The 33 miners have been trapped unerground since August 5th.  That's 69 days.  When the 700,000 tons of rocks collapsed, the men spent 17 days with no contact from above ground.  They made 48 hours' worth of rations last before rescuers were able to send more food to them.

The first few men to come out were in the best medical condition.  The next 10 to be rescued will need medical attention due to hypertension, diabetes and skin ulcers.

Panic attacks during the rescue are a big concern.  They have given the miners a high calorie liquid diet designed by NASA to combat nausea.   The miners will have to be alert during their ascent in case something goes wrong.  A video camera will monitor the ascents to watch for panic attacks and a 2-way comminucation system is in place as well.  To prevent blood clotting, the miners were also given aspirin to think their blood and are wearing compresion socks.  They will also need to wear sunglasses for awhile to protect their eyes from the natural light.

The regional hospital has prepped 2 floors for care of the miners, that will be lit just like a movie theatre to accomodate them.  They will be receiving physical as well as psycholigical care.  Their ordeal is not over.

These men are not only brave, but they are victims.  Sure, they are also heros, but what happened to them shouldn't have.  I'm happy that the Chilean government is doing everything in it's power to help these men and their families to go through something like this.

Today, I will  be praying for them, as well as sending them positive energy and luck.  May God bless them all.

Vous parlez français?

Interesting article....

If you meet these stars in the street, you'd have no problem striking a conversation in French!

  • Claudia Schiffer
  • Brooke Shields
  • Orlando Bloom
  • Jodie Foster (She even wrote her Master's thesis in French!)
  • Lourdes Leon (Madonna's daughter)
  • Arnold!
  • Brendan Fraser (He even lived in Ottawa for a while)
  • Chloë Sevigny (Surprisingly, French is not her mother tongue)
  • Bryan Adams (I knew that!  He sings in French too)
  • Chris De Burg (no ne cares about that one..)

This animal is so cool!

Tired morning.  I was browsing the web when I found an article on unique marine animals...

And this one stuck with me.  I thought it wasn't real.

It's weird, but at the same time beautiful.  I thought I'd share this picture with you...it's kinda sharp!

Do you think this crab is gross or pretty??  I like it.

Grey Friday

Hi folks!!

Ah, since I'm not busy at work right now, let's see what's happening in this life of mine…

I'm now working on my mom's wedding cake. I'm a little last minute, but it can't be done that much ahead of time. I think it's going to turn out pretty :) I still have tons to do before tomorrow afternoon, gosh, I should go home right now!

We're having some drama at daycare. There's an issue with the license, which has not been delivered yet to the daycare, so right now, it's operating illegally. And it sucks because it's big, it's clean, it's safe, everything to make a good daycare. Just without the stupid paper that's taking forever to be delivered. So really, it's just a question of timing. Ugh.

I'm so nauseous, it's grey and cold outside, so I'll just stop here instead of complaining for too long and bore you to death!

Wedding news and pics to come!!!

Emotional week ahead: warning

Happy Monday, friends!

So I'm kinda scared…we have a last minute parent meeting at daycare tonight. I'm afraid they'll tell us some bad news. They are having problems with their file with the government, and I'm afraid they'll have to close down or something. I dunno, it's a bad feeling I have. The meeting is at 4h30, when we go pick up our kids, so it's pretty much last-minute-it-can't-wait-for-a-formal-meeting meeting. Uh oh.

I hope you guys had nice weekends, we had an awesome one. This time of year is my favorite, leaves are turning, the temperature is dropping to a cool comfy one, bugs are long gone and everyone is in a good mood. It's my fave season. We'll probably get married in the fall. In a few years.

This week is going to be crazy. I'm off-site at work for a 3 day mandatory training. Yuk, I hate training. Tonight, we're getting the bouquet and some decorations done for my mom's wedding. Then I have to make her cake sometime this week. I've started planning it, wow it's bit overwhelming, it has to be extra nice!  I think I'll do it over a few days so I don't feel too last minute and pressured.

Freg, I'm stressed out about the daycare meeting tonight.  I so hope I'm wrong!  I'll let you know...

Segway suicide

In the news.

Sad news this week.  The owner of Segway killed himself riding one of his vehicle off a cliff.  Now, if you're like me, you ask, what the heck is a Segway...some kind of moped or something?

No my friends.  It's much more funnier than that.

Ok, suicide is never funny.

But this news made me smirk.  Just imagine the scene..
http://tech.ca.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=25731446

For non-techies, this is a Segway.  I'm sure you've seen some.  Personnally, I think it's a ridiculous invention, except maybe for the elderly.  But picture this American police officer chasing you with the sirens on...

Sorry my American friends.  You are not the only ridiculous nation...the Chinese police force also uses it!

The physics theory

Well folks, blood tests went well. I folded to their instructions afterall and went (almost) on an empty stomach.

Turns out the seabands are helping more now that I've had them on for a while. So I was able to drink a bit of water and nibble a bit of cheese (nothing sweet to screw up the glucose test) before going in. I was so proud of myself. :)…I hope they don't notice that I wasn't completely honest…sssshhhhhhhh!

Friends, I eat so much, I wonder why I'm not 150lbs by now. Where does it go? In school they told us, and it's one of the 10 things I remember from high school, about an absolute truth. Nothing is lost, nothing is created. Sound familiar? Meaning everything already exists, from gas, to liquid, to solid. Matter just transforms. So where the heck does all this food go?!

And the man is back!

Gooood morning!

Well, Daddy is finally back home. Thaaaaank goodness! Now I don't have to be a single parent anymore, yay!

Last week was rough. Severe nausea has started, on top of the fatigue, it was hard to take care of myself, let alone take care of a 15 month old. But I did a great job (pat on the back) and I survived.

My oh so lovely manager is off for 2 weeks, eeehaw! Makes me happy. No stress for a few days, which is most welcomed.

Now that my hubby's back, I'll have time to finish my laundry, get to bed earlier and even straighten my hair, woah!

Today sucks at work. My buddy is off to take care of her kid, and I'm feeling sick. Got some seabands, not doing a whole lot for me though. Next step, gravol! Tomorrow I'm going for bloodtests. They want me to be on an empty stomach to take my glucose. WTF?! Pregnant women can't be on an empty stomach!! Well too bad, they'll have to check my glucose another time!

Off to get more food, I didn't pack a big enough lunch. :(

Is the week over yet?

oh no, silly me, it's just starting!!  FAK!
My wonderful boss is starting to really annoy the heck out of me.  One of my coworkers is leaving for another team, our effing boss being one of the reasons, and I'm envying him.  My team will now consist of me, my effing boss, and one other old-fart-I-know-it-all coworker.  Nice, eh?

Thank goodness I have a good friend in another team, who puts sunshine in my day, cuz I wouldn't stick it out.  In fact, if everything stays the same by the time May comes around and I go on mat leave, I'll sure look for someplace else to come back to work to.

Ok, rant over.

Baby is doing well lately, although he's getting viruses left and right.  Not too too bad, just a little exausting when he won't eat.  He declared war this weekend.  Wouldn't eat.  Now, Baby is not skinny, so it's not really a big deal, but it still bothered me that he would only eat cheese and bread.  Thankfully, it has passed.  Apparently, a couple kids at daycare were like that too.  On top of that, he was constipated.  And people, isn't true we don't feel well when we're full of shit? lol!  I'm really glad he exploded at daycare yesterday morning and not home!

Enough negativeness.

oh yeah.  Daddy's gone to Vegas for a week-long bike show, so I'm all alone fending for myself and a toddler.  Well la-di-da, ain't I the luckiest person in the world, I'm getting support from everyone!  My aunt and a neighbour brought me food, people are coming over at night to help with bathtime, even a friend of mine who has a baby herself is taking time to come help me!  I'm so blessed.  It reminds me of when Dad died and we got support from a gazzilion people, it was really emotional to realize how much love we received.  Same this week, it's overwhelming, all this love

Shout out to Link, whom I haven't chatted with in a long time.  Lucky is helping me out, she's the best!

So, how you doin'?!

Le cuisinier rebelle!

I need to watch more tv...!
I just found an interesting show

Le Cuisinier Rebelle

The guitarist from a band I loved 10 years ago is now doing a cooking show!!  Not only is he a cool self-taught chef, but his show has easy interesting recipes and he's fun to watch.  Did I mention his awesome kitchen?  It runs on a new network called Zeste, which only runs cooking shows.  I think I might have to watch tv a little more often now...

Since I love food, and am not a super chef, it makes me wanna be one.  Maybe one day I'll have a dream kitchen.

One day!

My Strange Addiction

Woah.  So I'm watching this show on TLC called My Strange Addiction.  It's 4 people who've got really strange psychological addictions.  Tonight it's:

  1. A 22 year old girl who's diagnosed with pica, and is addicted to eating chalk, laundry detergent and the cement side of the pool.
  2. A 45 year old woman who's addicted to shopping.  She spends about 1,500$ a week and is 85,000$ in debt.
  3. A 44 year old man who's addicted to running.  He runs about 100 miles a week.  He started running after his divorced.  He's litterally running away from his problems.
  4. A 20 year old girl who's addicted to tanning.  She's been tanning full time since she was 13 years old.  She thinks that if she dies tomorrow of skin cancer, "she'll die hot!"  She tans about 10 hours a week outside without sunscreen.  Her skin tone is dark orange.
I hope these people get medical help.  Besides the shopping, their addiction is life threatening.  I hope they give updates on these people at the end of the show.

Maybe Dr. Cruickshank can help in this matter...

My addiction?  good food.  But it's not compulsive.  Then I'd definitely go to Dr. Cruickshank.

G'night, addicts!

Baby Making month #3

Lucky us, it worked!!!

We are pregnant for a second time!  "Worked" really hard at the end of August, and it took!  We're due around May 14th.  Already got my doula booked and mat clothes ready.  Won't be long 'till my regular clothes don't fit anymore!!

New furnace and long weekend

Oh boy, feel like it's been a while since I wrote anything on here!  My bad!
We had a great Labor Day weekend.  It was nice to have 2 days in a row with my whole family.  I usually only get Sunday.  So it was nice!

We went to see Our Lady Peace and Hedley at a festival last Friday.  In the rain.  Boy are we real fans.  It wasn't cold, so we didn't mind, it was more annoying, but we had our umbrella-ella-ella..  OLP was ok, but he was off key a lot in the first few songs and couldn't hit the higher notes.  But Rain Maida compensated by being a super trooper and going in the crowd with the fans.  The played all the best songs, which was great!  Hedley was, as usual, full of energy.  It was a good show, very impersonnal, but good entertainment.  They played all their best songs too, made me happy.  I sang along like the geek that I am.

Baby is majorly teething.  2 back teeth are peeking from his gums in the back.  Poor little guy is cligny and a bit difficult.  At least we know there's a reason and he's still sleeping all night.  It's harder to be patient in these hard times, but it could be way worse.

Working hard these days, with my new responsibilities at the office.  Love it!

Oh, and we're getting a new furnace too!  Not exciting, but homeowners know it's a big step.  Since we're going to be moving in a couple of years, we chose a high efficiency furnace, but in leasing.  Dunno if I mentionned this earlier (scatterbrain), but we're trying to upgrade to sell in a few years.  We still have to carpet the stairs, get a central vac and retouch paint.  We might be able to get lucky and sell with the old windows.  They are BIG, so it would be freggin expensive to change them before we leave.

ok, got some laundry to do.   Gooooood night! xox

Finally, cool air!

Goood Lord!

So we finaly found out what was wrong with the air conditioning.  I thought it was the furnace not blowing air, and that was partly true.  There was a freeon leak and it froze everything!  Pipes were frozen or something, and the air wasn't passing through.  The guy told us on Monday to keep it on "fan" until he came back the next day.  Sure enough, everything had thawed and made a medium mess in the basement (nothing a beach towel can't handle).

When he came out the next day, he fixed it, did some tests, etc.  It only cost 180$, and I'm sure glad to pay it!  Nothing like being comfortable.  Ahhhhhh!

Baby is happier too, poor little guy had 2 hot nights.  No wonder he was cranky!  Daddy and I were too.  Well, mostly him.  :)

Daddy's working the evening shift, so I got it to myself, yeee to the haw!  I'll probably get prepared for tomorrow and then relaaaaaax!

Oh yeah, I wanted to mention this.  I'm having constant nightmares in the past week, so annoying.  They're not terrorizing, they're stressing the heck of me out!  I dream that I'm being chased all the time.  Like, chased with weapons.  Stressful!  I'm not rested, I yawn all day at work.  I'll try and rest tonight, maybe a little meditation, a little reading...shoot, I'm relaxing just writing it down :)

OK, bath time, then dodo for the little one.  Then it's ME time!!
Have a good night, invisible friends! xox

NO AC!!!

FACK!!
The central AC's working (that's the frustrating part), but the heating hunk of metal downstairs ain't pushing air in the vents!!  That old hag has been giving me that problem for over 2 years now.  About 2 or 3 times a year, I have to call for repair.  Thank goodness that it's covered in the lease contract!

I called the company that owns the furnace and water heater for a repair dude to come by today, aaaaaand of course there's a waiting list.  Of course, it's 40 degrees outside.  Of course.  Aaaaaand of course, it'll take 48 hours to get a call to even GET an appointment!  Of course!!!

So this morning, in 2 hours precisely, I'm going to call that same company's sales department, and I'm going to ask for them to come install a new furnace.  For her sake, she's almost 20 years old.  And she's been sick on and off for a few years, so I'm sending her to metal heaven.  Enough already, I need a new model, an young stud that's more energy efficient too.

It was 81 degrees when we went to bed last night.  Thank Goodness for ceiling fans and standing fans.  I can live being sweaty and hot, it's more for Baby well being that I'm annoyed.  I'm glad they have AC at daycare and I hope it won't take too long to get a repairman here!

It's always when you need things the most that they are broken/unavailable/missing.
It's your fault, Murphy, and your stupid law!!!

Breathe.  Ok, I gotta get dressed (lightly, freg it'll be 41 today) and get my ass to my cold office.  *bliiiiiss*.

Have a good cool day, my friends!! xox

Monday Bluuuuues

Phew, ok vacations are done, now I can go back to blogging!

It wasn't very relaxing running after a toddler for a week, but we had lots of fun, quality time together. Now I need real time off!

Morning didn't start off too good, my mood was not a happy camper this morning. It's now almost 3 in the PM and I feel much better.

I'm eager to go get Baby at daycare today, see how it went after 3 weeks away! He has grown, that I know…he's almost as tall as a 2 year old! Daddy's not a tall man, I secretly hope he can beat him..

I suddenly realized this weekend that we'll need to move sooner than I thought. To determine which school Baby will go to (I know that's in like 4 years, but still, we had planned a few more than that at our little townhouse), they check the addresses. So we'll need to get ourselves a real family house soon! I don't want my kids to change school if they don't have to, so we'll have to look into that. So right now, we're trying to slwoly upgrade our house so it's all pretty and nice to sell! We went to Rona yesterday and got some new cupboard handles, so I gotta go grad some metal washers to fit them in. They're a little too loose.

Got a big client meeting tomorrow, my first in my new responsibilities. With managers. I'm a little nervous! I'm glad they're all women though, and I already met them once, so I shouldn't be. It'll be fun though, me the little mermaid, having older women as clients! Mouahahahah!! They are so much fun too!

WISH ME LUCK!

Last day of my week off

Sad, but not that much! :)  Starting new responsibilities at work on Monday and I'm kind of excited.  I'm a geek.

Week was a bit rough, with a toddler walking everywhere he possibly can.  But we had lots of fun.  Baby started saying new words like "fleur", "banane", "glace" (as in ice cream cone in proper french), "gougour" (yogourt, which he is oh so excited about at every meal!).

Tonight is very exciting for me, I'm going to get my hair done, heeeelllll yes!  That's always a treat for me.  I'm also thinking about a pedicure to finish off summer in a good way, but I might wait for my mom's October wedding to do it.

We got a Cars sofa/sleeping bag for Baby and the cat has now adopted it.  Damit.  Black cat hair everywhere.  Than goodness for sticky Rollers!

Planning a Walmart trip this afternoon to stock up on baby stuff and cake equipment.  Making a pink giraffe cake for a friend's daughter in September.  It's gonna be so pwetty!! :)

That being said, as I'm not super interesting today, I'll leave you on this note: I'm craving chocolate.

Huh! of the Day
I never knew these two were mother/daughter!

(For you youngsters, Judy Garland was Dorothy in the original Wizard of Oz and singer of the song Over the Rainbow, and Liza Minelli is an American actress and singer)

Surprise at Timmy's!

An ordinary day.

UNTIL!

Drive through at Tim Horton's just down the block.  I order a medium Iced cap and they give me a large!  Wooooo!  That totally made my day :)  (Unless I'm totally clueless and medium is pretty damn big!)

In other news this week, my peach dessert, which turned out to be a peach cobbler, was not that great!  Other guests seemed to like it (or were being polite, but my mom would tell me the truth....right?), but I thought cobbler is WAY better with apples.  I just discovered something about myself...I don't like cooked peaches.  Huh, who knew!

But peaches are so damn good!  Ontario ones are at the peak and I'm devouring them like there's no tomorrow!  It's a shame we live in a country where fresh fruits and veggies aren't local all year long.  That is very sad to me.  I hate being able to get fresh, juicy, just right fruits and veggies only a few weeks a year.  Peaches and corn will soon be over.  And apples and squash will take over in september.  THEN I'll make good cobbler, sheesh!!

Demain, lunch at St-Hubert with a friend.   Jeudi, Cosmic Adventures.  Friday, well, maybe kiddie pool, we'll see.  Hey Dolly, maybe we can join you for your daily walk or something!  Let me know!

Peace out to Chris, who I haven't talked to in a while.  I took a break from FV.  And it feels good not to have to go on it twice a day, I started to feel like an obligation, yuk :P  Send me a msg when you can, I'd like to know how G Lake life is going!!

P.S.  Yes, I'm reading Eminem's biography and it's damn good!  I think I'm starting to like biographies a lot.  Anywho, I'm gonna go get myself a copy of his latest CD as soon as I can.  Peace, Marshall!

Monday on vacation!

YES!  I'm on vacation!
Well, it's kind of a flashback of maternity leave...I have Baby with me because daycare is closed this week.  But I'm not complaining much, it's nice to be able to stay in pyjamas and hang out with a 14 month old....

LOL!

He's now dancing to the demo song of Daddy's keyboard.  We've decided he's going to teach himself how to play.  haha.  No!  but he seems to like hitting the keys and making some music with the different notes.  I'm all against toys that make noise, but music is significantly good for the brain, the soul and everything else in life.  So we encourage it.  Even if it makes us cringe sometimes :)

Now, he's off to nap for a couple hours (if I'm lucky) and I get to make a peach dessert for dinner tonight.  Huh, I sound like a housewife!  yeeeesh!

OK, gotta go get busy!  Have a good week, little friends!

P.S.  Watched 2 old romantic movies this weekend and loved them!  Forever young, with Mel Gibson when he was HOT, and Somersby, with Richard Gere and Jodie Foster.  Now the funny thing about that movie is that both main actors are gay.  Well, R.G. maybe just been suspected, but still.  Funny when both of them do not want to be kissing eachother for very good reasons!

As promised, bike trip pics!

Has the dust settled yet?  Moving on!

Here are pics from my 120K bike trip with my friend K.  We had lots of fun, stretched like there was no tomorrow and ate like queens!  well ok, maybe princesses, but ya know, it was perty good :)

Just before the official departure

The mean machine!

The arrival at the B&B, finally!!

And finally, the last pic, the finish line back to the car!  PHEW!

Next trip, 2011!  Well, unless there's a bébé on the way! :)

Garrett, you must be a great actor!

Hey all you readers!  Holly crap, I didn't know I could stir all those opinions!

Right on, people!

So unfortunately, I won't be seeing anymore filming because they will be shooting indoors, and at night.  And I mean from 7PM to 7AM, so yesterday was my only lucky day!  Booo!

It was super great to see how filming is made, and I even found out that one of the "unknowns" in my pics is the director!  I think someone in a comment said he was talking to Garrett in the van, which would be right.  Anywho, now I feel more privileged to have seen the director, yeehaw!  If only I knew who the hatman who gave orders is!

To answer to the little ladies who are fans of Garrett, I guess I'll have to correct myself.  If y'all thought he was in character while he was looking like a dude with too much confidence and spitting, well, fiiiiiiine.  I haven't read the book, so I don't know who his character is.  Might as well have been "practising".  I actually hadn't thought of that, but whatever.  I didn't expect anyone to wave or acknowledge the crowd, duh, they were working and might I say that if crowds gathered to try and get a piece of me while I worked I would be such a snob!  You might wanna read a bit more of my blog to get to know me and figure out I'm not a 15 year old looking for a celebrity date.  I can still dream about marrying Mark Wahlberg though, right?

So whoever is criticizing my opinions or point of vue, move on.  You won't get much out of my writting!  Although I enjoy reading your reactions.  Especially from people all over the world, that's awesome!!

Leave a comment!  I love reading you, even if you make me frown for a minute :P
Thanks for the support Dolly, way to go!!!!

And just for the record, Garrett, I still love you! xox

Movie set, day 1

I spied during work hours on one of the sets, we didn't see much, but it was still interesting:

Old restaurant turned into a coffee shop

This is the set, it was on the other side of the street.  Sucks that the black veil is there, pooh!
Some extras, after filming on the set

So I'm a real fan because I stayed after work to watch the filming on the second set.  It was a great experience!  The guy standing beside me got picked up as an extra!  Damn, I wish I were a man that minute!  Lemme tell you, I dunno why the actors get paid the big bucks, it's the CREW that does all the hard work.  It's so organized, everybody knows what to do, it's quick and efficient.  We were told to move a bit farther, super politely.  A guy even came to see if we had questions!

So the good news is, I got to see and shoot some pics of Garrett Hedlund, woooooo!  HOTTIE!  but such an ass, really.  He waited in the van, hiding, till his scene was shooting.  And he really looked like he had the hugest ego, he was carrying himself way too confidently and spitting on the ground.  No class!  And he's NOT an A list actor...I can only imagine how full of themselves most are...

Anyways, here are some pics of the exciting parts.  I'm so glad Daddy took care of Baby while I hung out with the Hollywood people.  It was quite a treat!

Here's the director prepping to shoot.
Some extras being coached.

AND GARRETT!!

Oh, how I'm sore!

Oh my, what a weekend!

Biking 120 KM, which was a bit more than assumed, was quite a challenge! My leg muscles are still a bit stiff. I have to say we stretched like we've never stretched in our lives, for a whole 48 hours! My friend K and I had a lot of fun on our bike trip. She almost killed a chipmunk twice with her bike, almost ran over a garden snake too. I guess animals just liked to go right in front of her bike at the wrong time!

I almost fell off my bike twice going into thick sand. Not easy to stear a bike with 25 pounds of baggage on it! We sang, complained, and discussed boys over the ride. It was a fun time. Our bodies were pushed to the limit (especially me, the oldest, not-in-shape-mom), she was great with hills going up, I was better at flat road endurance. We made sure to eat our Maxim energy bars and drink our Gu drinks so they'd keep us going.

The B&B was amazing, it was a dreamy place, full of gardens, birds and zen feelings. We got some rain on the way back, but it was light and intermittent, so it didn't bother us too much. Apparently, Daddy was quite worried because it was very stormy, yucky weather at home. He even txted me to tell me to stop at another B&B for the night if the storm hit us, he would let my boss know. What a sweetheart, eh?

Anyways, the experience was a lot of fun, hard, but a great accomplishment for me! Daddy and I are planning to go back, same B&B, different bike route. And probably less milleage!

So, today is Hollywood day!! I brought my camera at work and plan to go spy on the film set. I don't expect to even be able to get close. I walked by yesterday and there's nothing to see. They seemed to be working in an alley, between 2 buildings, so I doubt we'll be able to see anything. Anyways, I'll try and get pics of whatever interesting thing I can for you guys!

I'll also post pics from the bike weekend. My bagagge isn't even emptied yet, I have lots of laundry to do!

KStew, Viggo and KDunst in town next week!

Holly shit!!!

Hollywood's coming to town! We just got an email at work saying that streets around the office will be closed next Tuesday for filming. It's right out my window! And even closer to Daddy's bike shop! OMG!! KStew was fimling in Montreal yesterday and RPattz was seen on the set, so holly mofo, he might be here in 4 days!!!!!

Also featuring in the cast, Kristen Dunst and Viggo Mortensen. Let's not forget the hotdamn Garrett Hedlund!  Oh man, I'll so try and sneak in to spy! I'm sure there'll be police everwhere, but man, it's so cool! They're filming a movie called On the Road. I really wonder what the heck they'll be filming here, nothing special to see around here..

I'll try and do my best to report back next week on the situation. I hope I'll get to see a little something!

Thursday at the office

Ahh, finally got my man back!

Daddy was gone for 3 days at a bike show in Wisconsin. Not that I missed him thaaaat much, but man, it was nice to be by myself for a few days! No arguing, no negociating, no pleasing someone other than me. A totally selfish 3 days, I LOVED it!! Need. To. Do it. More. Often!

He had a good time over there, got a lot of waiting time at airports though. And ate bad pizza at the Chicago airport. He was sick this morning. Tums did the trick. He probably missed Baby more than good ol' me, but that's fine. I'm glad he went, it was one of the only times this summer he got a break from home.  What a dedicated man!  (Maybe I should send him away more..!!)

New strategy: spend more time apart, with other people, so we can miss eachother more. Yes. That would be good.

Starting my new strategy this weekend, on a bike trip with a friend of mine. I'm super excited to go. 114K in 2 days. Woop!

I'm bored at work. I'm going to be replacing a collegue of mine, he's leaving for a new position in a few weeks, so I'm kind of in-between projects. I'm not getting new ones since I'll be doing other chores, and I'm still not doing them just yet, so it's kinda boring. I'll be busier then, so I'm just going to enjoy this free time for now. I'm not even changing offices, just new workload. And I'm happy about that! My current supoervisor is a loner, he doesn't give me work, barely even talks to me. So the change is mighty welcomed!

Have a happy Thursday, invisible friends!

P.S. Why do I decide to wear a headband on a day I wake up with a headache? :S

Slap!

OK, I just got a slap in the face.

Baby and I get down in the family room after our nap and tv's on.  It's a documentary.  About children who have rare diseases and neurological disorders.  I couldn't help the tears coming down.

I love my son.  And we're the luckiest parents in the world.

Who cares if I'm not pregnant this month...

Baby making month #2

I unexpectedly got my period this morning.  I'm sad.

  1. we worked SO hard at getting pregnant at the right time this month and God knows that's not the most fun thing in the world
  2. I wasn't supposed to get my period for 4 more days.  Which means I'm possibly irregular. Which means it'll make it that much harder to get pregnant.
Maybe I'm over reacting.  Maybe I'm just really sad.
Let me wallow in pity for a few days until I slap myself up and get back to reality.

Note to self

Have extra diaper in handbag.  Kids DO poop at the worse times.

Thanks Dolly!

The results are in!

And it's good news!  Mommy can breathe the heck out.
Oh, and a stinky story too.

So I go pick Baby up at daycare and distracted Daddy hadn't told them I was coming early for an appt.  He just fell asleep when I picked him up, so they grab him and hand him to me.  En route to the appt, an awful poop smell comes to my nose.  Sure enough, when I get to the clinic, I go in the bathroom with him and there one of the biggest, smelliest poop he's ever done.  Full of pee too.  And believe it or not, I had NO diapers!! I hadn't planned on bringing his bag since I was coming from work and planned only an hour or two with him.

So brave mommy used a gazillion kleenex and paper towels to get the biggest mess out, folded some clean tissues inside his diaper and put it back on.  I felt like the worst mom in the world!!!

So back to the results.

The doc was super nice, about 10 feet 7 (!) and pretty young.  But very good. (looking...too)

Turns out Baby has pseudo-strabism:
Esotropia is the name for eyes that turn inward. In pseudoesotropia, the eyes appear to be crossed but are actually straight. This common condition in infants and young children is generally due to the infant's facial structures. The wide bridge of the nose and small folds of eyelid skin on the nasal side of the eye contribute to this appearance by covering the "white" of the eye. This especially becomes apparent when the infant looks to the right or the left. As the infant's facial structures mature, this appearance of crossing will improve and often disappear.

So HURRAY for a healthy baby!  Maybe he'll stil wear glasses, but at least he won't be cross-eyed and made fun of at school.  I'll still enroll him in Karate, don't worry :)

Makes my DAY!!

Appointment day

Warning: emotionnal day.  PMS?  Maybe.

Baby has an appointment with a pediatric ophtalmologist (try saying it only once when you're drunk).  at his one year appointment with his doctor, she told us that his left eye was a bit lazy/misaligned.  Thankfully, it's not enough of a serious case to go to the Children's Hospital, but we still have to consult a specialist in a clinic.  I'm scared.  Of course, there's worse things in life.  But I'm scared that it'll have long term consequences.

Maybe because it's not a good day for me, maybe I'm being oversensitive.  Daddy and I wear glasses, so it's a bit of a given that our kids will too.  And it's apparently pretty common.  I guess I'm just being a worried mom...

I'm leaving in a couple hours.  I'll let you know how it went!

Freaky stuff!!

My brother and his fiancée went to the cottage last weekend.  Apparently, they weren't alone....

This is my sister-in-law.  She took a pic of herself beside the campfire.  It's hard to believe a random reflection of the lens being that clear and shaped like a woman's face.  Weird thing is, that lady, she looks a bit like my mom.  So I would say she may be a great grandmother?  Who knows.  But one thing's for sure.  This is not a trick.  And it's not camera malfunction either.  It's someone!  And I think it's awesome to get a visit like that!

Buffalo, Nordic baths and mini putt!

So our fabulous weekend is over :(

What a great time we had. Alone, away, with good food and a comfortable room.

Time we spent at the inn went quite fast. It's a really gorgeous region, with lots of farms, green pastures and…lamas..? Yep!

It was a cozy place, not quite up to date in the décor department, but still very nice. In our suite awaited a bottle of darn good mousseux and a box of chocolates. We even spent some time in the nordic baths. Sigh… The only annoying thing was that we kept running out of hot water. Not pleasant when you need to fill a HUGE therapeutic bath. But still, the staff was really accomodating when we called to report it. Food was very good, I had buffalo for dinner and Daddy had salmon. Breakfast was très bon as well.

Saturday, Daddy turned 30! I told him that is was his day, and he could do whatever he wanted, no budget limits! I suggested a few activities we could do, but he wanted to take it easy, so we went to play a round of mini golf at a new place, which was so much fun!! Then we went for lunch, which was really yummy, and headed to the IMAX theater. We ended our day at my mom's to get Baby and stayed for dinner. Home made Surf and Turf…good Lord, that was our best meal of the weekend!!

It was great to get away for a day, just me and him. We still missed Baby, but honestly felt like we weren't parents for a whole 24 hours. Need. To. Do. It. Again!

Yesterday we spent an hour in a park, running with Baby. We totally exausted him, haha!! He was all over the place, trying to run, falling over every few fifty feet. Then we had our new used dishwasher installed by my soon-to-be father-in-law. I'm SO happy!! They gave us theirs, which is less than 4 years old. It's fantastic, we saved about 500$! Next on the list? Central vac!

Gotta go for now. Got lots and lots of steaming to do tonight, or I won't be able to wear anything tomorrow!

Got caught with no pants on.....again!

Freg.  It only happens to me!

I just got caught in my tshirt and undies by a neighbour, AGAIN!  The patio door is where everyone comes in, since we're in a townhouse community, and my (male, of course!) neighbour knocks on my door while I'm in the kitchen, wearing a tshirt and underwear.  And, of course, from the patio door, you can see pretty much inside the whole first floor, so I can't even run and hide, they'd see me (and my booty shorts) anyways.  Thankfully, he's an older gentleman and had kids of his own, if it wasn't that obvious, I would have said he didn't notice!

I need to start wearing pants!!

Wedding cake plans

Good day, readers.

Still sick. Not fun. Especially since it's (TMI WARNING) babymaking week. The timing sucks this month, with me being sick and Daddy working schedule. It's frustrating since there's 5 or 6 days in a month that are best. And if you can't make it work that week, you have to wait another month. It's frustrating. And doing it all the time, like so many of my friends suggest, obviously don't have kids or don't have a husband with the same working schedule.  But like my friend Krystal says: "you only have to pretend you're enjoying it!".  LOL!

Anyways.

I'm just glad we're going away just the 2 of us this weekend. Good Lord, we need it! It's been a crazy week. BUT, I have 2 good news:

We're getting a new used dishwasher from my mom, ours is not at it's best. There's always a few dishes that are still dirty after every wash. I'm glad, that saves us like 500$!

AND

My mom chose her wedding cake! Here's what I'm making for her:

I was excited to make a tiered cake for her wedding, but since there won't be more than 50 guests, it'll be a simple cake. Although, I'll have to practice the flowers, I've never made them before.  It should be interesting!

Alright, gotta get to work! xox

Sniffle..

oh daaaaarn.  I'm stuffed up.

Woke up with a sore throat, hoped it was nothing, but it's official.  I have a cold :(

I'm bitchy on Mondays

Ahhh, there goes the weekend. It's already gone, pooh!  I feel like complaining this morning :P

Why do they go by so fast? We barely have time to enjoy it! Man, I need vacations.

Speaking of, we have a special weekend planned. Daddy's turning 30! on Sunday and I'm bringing him on a romantic getaway!! No kids, no in-laws, just us, champagne, a hotel suite and a good time! The package includes a 4 course dinner, one night in the romantic suite, champagne and chocolates, and a nice breakfast in the morning. Oh man, will that be fun! We leave Baby with my mom on Friday afternoon and come back Saturday probably after dinner. It'll be a major effort for me to not feel guilty about leaving Baby. I don't know why, but lately the guilt creeps up on me quite quickly.

Baby has discovered he has a belly button. Was quite funny to watch him lift his shirt and play with it. He also understands everyone has one. And he wants to see it, he comes and lifts our shirts too! Manners, my boy! Haha! It's super cute, actually. He's starting to understand more and more things, which to us is just amazing. I'm in awe of him, everyday.

Poopy supervisor is back from his 3 weeks vacation. Ugh, I was so happy without him. Maybe I have authority issues. Maybe I just don't like him. I vote second option. Ok, he's not so bad, it's just that I don't like workign for him. He's not a bad person. But as my boss, meh. I kinda have to go say hi this morning. I'm trying to gather up some willingness. Go me, go…

I'm also having bad dreams lately. I dreams that my friends all hate me, that they have things against me. It's disturbing. I wake up all sad, wanting to call them to really check if they're mad at me. What does it mean? I don't like it!

Allllriiiiiight. Gotta get to work. Happy Monday, Happy Thoughts, Smiiiiiiiiiiiiile. :S

Oumphless

I'm bored and tired today.  Feeling blahhhhhh.
Baby isn't sleeping much and it's too hot and humid outside.  We went to the park this morning and we were both super sweaty and yucky.  I took my shower and now I'm nice and cool in the AC.

I could go for a drive with him though.  Agh, I feel lazy, I'm not having a good mom day.  And I look too much like crap to go out in public.  Hahah, you know, feels like a kind of a day when you have your period!

I did make a good green buy though, got some new eco-friendly soft sole Robeez for Baby.  Huh, kinda makes me feel better right now!  :P

Alright, I'll go for a drive I think, it'll pass the time t'ill Daddy comes home from work.  Kid's rattling the stand up lamp, he's getting bored...time to go! :)

Full of granola bars!

aaahhh, Baby's so damn cute!

We bought a big box of granola bars we keep in the pantry.  It's darn big, so it's on the floor and obviously opened.  And Baby just loved to stack things, fill in and out, turn pages, get my drift?

I was just picking up the mess he made in the pantry and I found a bunch of granola bars in the cereal box and another bunch in the box of crackers.  Soooo cute!

I'm back! I wasn't gone too far, don't worry

Alright, back to blogging!

This week was a bit crazy, tight deadlines, everyone on vacation, people passing the ball around in the office…but it's done and I did a perty good job, if I say so myself! My supervisor is on holidays and I'm by myself to get things done. Thank goodness the job is not new to me. My manager came to see me this morning tho let me know I did a good job and he appreciates it. Brownie Points!! :)

Lots of exciting things going on lately. My mom's wedding, baby making, bike trip with my friend. Looking forward to aaalll of that! Look at the B&B we're going on the bike trip: http://www.millefeuille.ca/en/index.html It's so lovley, and not expensive! We're getting a King bed and therapeutic bath in the room, woot woot! It's coming up in 3 weeks, so we're getting our bikes a tune up, learning how to change a flat and training a bit because we're doing 100Km in 2 days!

Mom is also going to choose her wedding cake soon. She'll come over and we'll look into it together. I'll post a pic of what she's going to choose. I hope it's not too simple. It'll be a very small and simple wedding, but I don't want her to pick stuff that's too plain. I *hope* her dress will not be too blah. She's getting married in a cocktail kinda dress. Boooo. I can't wait to organize my wedding. It won't be fancy, but it'll be nice and not plain. At least, if I can afford it :)

I'm filling out my paperwork in case I become incapacitated. It's not too bad, 8 pages I think. I'll also fill out a common-law contract to protect us during the period before we get married. Since we have a child and we're not married, nor do we have a will, it could get ugly and complicated if one of us was to pass.

On a happier note, I gotta get to work! Hahah!

Note to readers: What's up Link, miss ya on the farm! Lucky, feel better!!! Dolly, maybe I'll bump into you and little girly at work today! M.P, yooooo :) Haven't seen you in a while, did you sell the townhouse yet? And a high five to everyone else who's reading this! xox

What a weekend!

First of all, what a Monday!  It's 12:41 and just starting my short lunch break!  Busy, busy..

Daddy and I had a really great weekend!  I spent the day with a good friend of mine, who now lives in Montréal.  She came down for the weekend and we went to the beach with Baby.  It was a great day!   Warm and super windy, it was perfect.  Baby spent a lot of time in the waves, bobbing in and out of the water, trying his hardest to swim.  I really got to get him in a swimming class!  For non-canadian readers, when I say beach, I mean my city's marina.  It's a lake, not the sea.  The water's brown, not blue.  But it's our beach :)

After the beach, we spent the evening at a friend's place to celebrate his 30th birthday.  It was awesome!  All our good friends were there and we had a lot of fun.  Ate some good darn food and had some good darn drinks!  I gotta say thank you to Daddy, who took was the DD and the DB (designated babysitter), since I was drinking.  What a man!  Birthday Boy's wife hired a clown to come entertain us for a little while, we missed it, but saw the pics and had a good laugh about it!  The kids were happy, and Bday Boy was just happy as a clam... :)

Baby spent half of Sunday sleeping, from getting to bed super late the night before.  We spent the evening at a last minute family BBQ on Daddy's side.  It was ok.  Left earlier :)  Had a chocking scare with Baby in the car, left us shaken.  Turns out he bit a stress ball and was gagging on the huge piece in his mouth.  New car rule: no more objects in his hands while we are driving.  We are lucky he was only gagging and heard him.  Even with a backseat mirror, we can't watch him every second.  I had a bad night's sleep and lots of nightmares about it.  Very tired today.

But anywho, all is well.  I am planning a biking weekend away with my Montréal friend this August.  Very exciting!  In the meantime, working on getting pregnant, woopi!

Gotta holla to my buddies Dolly and M, had a great night Saturday, ladies!  Maybe K will pick up on blog reading too :)  Love ya!! xoxoxox

TGI to the F!

Busy week!  I like it!  I'm exausted and I'm missing a friend's house warming party tonight.  But I had a good week.  Feeling more and more confident in my job, which is great!  Maybe having a student in our group helps me to not feel like the team kid anymore.

Spent an HOUR on the phone with a client today.  She yapped away and I couldn'T get a word in.  Only the last 5 minutes were productive.  Either she didn't understand and it took her a while to talk it out and get it, or she's just crazy.  I think she's crazy.  It's always like that with her.  Save the Lord I have a manager that is supportive, if ever she gets to be too much.

Home alone all night, Daddy us working the evening shift. Yay and pooh.  Yay I get to have free time alone after Baby gets to bed, pooh for having to take care of him by myself and missing my friends' get together.  Sigh.  Such is life when little people rule your world.

Baby had an wonderful week at daycare.  They LOVE him, hurray!!  He's really happy there, Amen!  He's walking more and more, he's very independent and a really good baby lately.  Barely fusses!  Gotta enjoy it while it lasts :)

Alright, lots of work in the hour ahead.

Good night, invisble friends.  Party for me tonight!! xox

BP oil leak stopped....for now

It's not celebration time yet, but it's a step in the right direction.  It's a positive move.  Let's pray to God that it gets better from here on.  This is the most dramatic disaster of all times.  I really hope that we can clean it up.

To be continued...

Yes, dinner was that good!!

I wanted to make him comfy so I draped him in his daddy's t-shirt that was cluttering a kitchen chair :)

P.S. Speck on his cheek is not a Marilyn Monroe..it's food

Ah, Mondays...

Don't you just love 'em?....

We had an amazing weekend!  Ran some errands Saturday, Walmart, of course.  Saw a girl, about 10 years younger than me (ok, maybe 6 or 7) pushing a double stroller with tiny twins and pulling a cart with her other hand.  I was with Baby, and as I assume all moms have a secret club relationship, I stuck up a conversation with her.  Well, I tried.  She didn't seem too keen to talk.  Then I remembered what it was like the first few months with Baby.  Everywhere I went people talked to me and wanted to touch him and be our friend.  Yeah, freggin annoying!  So that girl, with twins!  I bet that happened ALL the time with her and she was probably fed up answering the same questions and talking to everyone.  I wanted to tell her about my twin and just baby talk, you know?  But she wasn't interested in me at all....ouch.  But I understood.  Sniff..

Sunday we went to the cottage to join my mom.  It was a blast!!  Good food, amazing weather, a swim in the lake, a beer in the gazebo...what a life!   We bought a floating vest for Baby so he could be a little more independant swimming in the lake.  Well did he ever!!  He was running into the water, not caring about how deep it was getting.  No fear!  He was so excited, even if he bobbed around in his floating jacket and swallowed a LOT of water, he was having wayyy much fun!  Pics to come.

Argh, Monday...I so despise you.  You always wake us up tired and make our first day of work suck.  Pooh!  So you think I'd get fired if I take a nap in my office?....hahaha!!

Have a good week, invisible friends! xox

Beef of the Day

Why, oh why, is it always TOO cold in movie theatres?!

I'm thinking, ok, maybe they don't want people falling asleep, but yo, do you really need to make us shiver!  Crap, it was a relief to step outside in the 40 degree humidity!

Sigh....

We went to see the remake of the Karate Kid.  Here's my review:

I give it 7/10.  It wasn't great, but it was good.  Jackie Chan was awesome.  It was refreshing to have him in a serious role, he fit way better than being the stupid Kung Fu comedian.  Jaden Smith was ok, but he'll needs lots more experience if he wants to be like his Daddy and Mommy!!  The little Chinese girl was mega cute, I liked her.  All in all, I say you need to see it, but wait until it comes out on DVD.  In the meantime, rent the original version!

Oh, P.S.  There was a scene where Jackie Chan, who plays the Master, was waxing his car.  Then the kid walks in.  I thought, alright!!...the wax on, wax off scene!  But noooooooooooooo.....how dissapointing for fans of the 80s movie!  But to my surprise, that scene turned into a teary one.  Which was probably one of the highlights of the movie.  The fighting scenes at the end were kinda fake, you could see the hits were not real ones, so I thought that wasn't too professionnal for a Kung Fu movie.  But it was still not bad.

So Karate Kid fans, don't despair.  But instead of paying 10$, rent it for 4$ :)

I need to marry this guy...fast!!

OK, I'm NOT letting this guy get away.

Besides being the best Daddy on Earth and the best fiancé, check out what I came home to today.

Was about 40*C outside today, a real sticky day.   Daddy had his day off, like usual and he asked me to pick up Baby at daycare.  He usually does it on his day off.

So I got pick up Baby, come home, and what do I find?!

My Man
With a Ice Cappuccino waiting for me in his hands
Dinner made, table set
House picked up

What the $%?&* am I waiting for?  I need to marry this guy quick! :)

I'm the luckiest girl in the world!

Oh, and on top of that, did I mention that he can't wait to be a dad again?  How perfect can he get?!
Ladies, stand back!! He's TAKEN :P

Future Deception

I was excited today to learn that we were in the Future!  Back to the Future, that is.

I got an email with a pic showing the Dolorean dashbord showing today's date as the Future.  This was exciting news for me!!!   I'm a big BTTF fan, so it totally made my day.

Sadly, it was a mistake.

http://www.france24.com/en/20100706-back-to-the-future-movies-twitter-martin-mcfly-internet

What a bummer!

In other news.  I went to a manager meeting today, to fill in for my new manager who was off and I totally loved it!  It felt so nice to be part of the big team and get news and info first.  It did help that I was sitting beside my Eyecandyman.  But that's beside the point...., uh hmmmmm.  So yeah, it was great.  I took notes and actually understood all that was discussed, even asked a question.  Hey, even the Big Cheese DG knew my name, how about that!  Yep, I'm now famous at the office...lol :)  It would be great to go from time to time.  I'll discuss it with my manager tomorrow.  You never know!

OK, early night = lots to do!  Daddy is at the Bluesfest to see Iron Maiden.  Yeah, not my bag, either...So I'm home, Baby went down around 6h45, so I have lots of time to do stuff.

Later gator!

Baby making month #1

Bah, ok so it's not as easy as the first time around!

Guys, earmuffs, this is girl talk again.

Today I was supposed to get my period, but it's not here yet. So I tested. Negative :( I hope it's just because it was in the P.M., drank too much and diluted to HcG or it's a few days too early to know. Pooh.

Went to test at work, with the same friend, same bathroom, same lucky stall....damn.

I'll test again in 4 days if my period decides to hold off. Daddy is sad too. But, on the bright side, we get to practice again in 2 weeks! :) We'll be more careful with fertile days and whatnot.

So, little friends, we're not pregnant today.
I'll keep you posted. Lots of love!

Hot dogs, pool and straight hair

Today was a love/hate day.

Baby threw a tantrum, 50 minutes it lasted.  Thank goodness it was after we came back from Walmart!  That really tested my patience.  I had to call my mom to ask her how to handle a situation like this.

After all this commotion, he went down for a looooong nap.  So did I.  Sweet!
Then Daddy came home early from work because he knew I was having a hard time with Baby.  Boy I should marry him, and quick!

During our naps, Daddy set up the kiddy pool in front of the house, all warmed up for Baby, made me a drink that he stored in the fridge and waited for us outside with a few cold beers.

Was I a happy camper when we woke up!  Baby had a blast in the pool, I loved my drink and it was a really relaxing time.  Is he the perfect man or what!!

We had hot dogs again for dinner, which was awesooooome, and then we went for a walk along the river. It was the perfect weather, with a warm breeze that flew in my (straight, shiny and just, oh, silky) hair.  Ah, what a day!!!

Tomorrow morning, we go brunch at my brothers.  We're taking our bikes, which will be a really fun ride with the family.

Can life get any better?!  I guess when you have a really shitty week, it ends in a really wonderful way.  Huh!!

Hey, Happy Independance Day tomorrow, all you Americans out there.  I'm sure the celebrations are starting tonight!

Peace and Love! xox
