Old restaurant turned into a coffee shop
This is the set, it was on the other side of the street. Sucks that the black veil is there, pooh!
Some extras, after filming on the set
So I'm a real fan because I stayed after work to watch the filming on the second set. It was a great experience! The guy standing beside me got picked up as an extra! Damn, I wish I were a man that minute! Lemme tell you, I dunno why the actors get paid the big bucks, it's the CREW that does all the hard work. It's so organized, everybody knows what to do, it's quick and efficient. We were told to move a bit farther, super politely. A guy even came to see if we had questions!
So the good news is, I got to see and shoot some pics of Garrett Hedlund, woooooo! HOTTIE! but such an ass, really. He waited in the van, hiding, till his scene was shooting. And he really looked like he had the hugest ego, he was carrying himself way too confidently and spitting on the ground. No class! And he's NOT an A list actor...I can only imagine how full of themselves most are...
Anyways, here are some pics of the exciting parts. I'm so glad Daddy took care of Baby while I hung out with the Hollywood people. It was quite a treat!
Here's the director prepping to shoot.
Some extras being coached.
AND GARRETT!!
Thanks for posting the pics. However, what right do you have on calling someone you haven't even personally met an ass? You can't expect every actor out there to come and talk to the fans while they are working on a movie set. As for him "carrying himself way to confidently" he was staying in character. Have you even read the book?
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Garrett's, and from what I've read and heard from those who have met him at public events (not on movie sets), he is nothing but kind, sweet, and down to earth.
Don't believe me? Check out the following links for yourself:

Hey MJ!! You did an awesome job, thanks for updating us! And you have every right to say whatever you want about what you saw on set! If thats the impression you got of Garrett, you are entitled to write about it on YOUR BLOG. And those who disagree, will have to respect your opinion, or go on and read something else!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'd be impressed with somebody who keeps spitting on the ground "to stay in character!"... but whatever!
I'm sure a BUNCH of actors have a huge ego... and yes, I think that the crews on set dont get all the credit they deserve either... I must admit though, I had to look up Garrett on the net... had no idea who this guy was, oops!!
Its pretty cool you got that close to the set!! And great pictures by the way!! Maybe day #2 will have more surprises in store for you! Maybe you'll get picked as an extra ;)
I just don't really know, what to comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pictures, but that you called Garrett an ass because you watched him concentrating on his work.
Seriously if you ever had met him in person or even read or heard a bunch of his interviews you'd know just HOW wrong you are.
That guy is really kind and humble.
Maybe you should know that he's been working on this project since 3 years, it's the role of his dream and he's one of that actors that really need to stay "in character" to get the work done. He mentioned more than once in interviews that he's always trying to work harder than anybody else on set to be sure he gave everything.
And of course you can write on your blog what ever you want, but I wanted to tell you both (especially mia) that it's very disrespectful and unpolite to call somebody an ass.
What would you think if you read something like that written about you online.
And that just because you concentrated on your work and didn't pull out a big show for the onlookers.
So, yes I actually don't think it's okay to insult somebody you don't even know, even on your own blog.
But, well thanks a lot for the pictures and I'm happy for you that you had the chance to watch tht scene! Wow, I envy you. ;-)
Greetings
(PS: Sorry for my bad English but since I am from Austria, I actually speak German)
Well hello there Kat, thanks for the words of wisdom. Please note that I didnt call anyone an ass... and if I hadnt read the blog, I wouldnt even know that an actor named Garrett Hedlund even existed.
ReplyDeleteBut anyway, I'm with MJ on that one. I dont think its a big deal that she expressed her opinion. She saw him in person. Have you? Are you basing your opinion of him on gossip magazines??
Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyways, moving on!!!!
P.s. Hey MJ, your blog has international readers, you're famous!!
I've met him a couple of times and he's incredibly kind and down to earth. Some actors like to stay in the moment between scenes - acting isn't a switch you can turn on and off. And if you look at some of the other pictures that have been posted from that day of shooting, Garrett is talking with the director while he's sitting in the van. Dean is a very intense and complex role and I'm sure it's tough to shake that off while you wait for cameras to be reset.
ReplyDeleteMJ - it's so exciting that you get to see some of the filming! They filmed the Lovely Bones near me and I did get to see some of the set ups they did to make a street look like it was from the 70's, but I didn't see any of the actual shooting and I wish I'd found the time to go on set.
@Mia: No, I don't read any gossip magazines, I'm actually not interested in the "who dates whom"-stuff and I've never met him in person.
ReplyDeleteBut I love that extra-stuff on DVDs and I've read lots of interviews and I know people who were lucky enough to meet him (Laura for example ;-) )
So I based my opinion on what he said about himself (btw I really recommend the links "anonymous" posted, what other actors said about him and of course on what my friends impressions have been.
And I never said that you called him an ass, but you said it was okay to write that because it was her blog and I tried to make a point about that you shouldn't insult somebody there because everybody can read it (even Hedlund himself though that's very unlikely...but just think about it, he surfs by and reads that somebody called him an ass)
It's official. I'm living in Austria and I could read it, everybody who is online can read it.
I just think if you run a blog you should think twice what you want everybody to read.
Sorry MJ, I didn't mean to offend you.
It's just, I'm a big fan of Garrett since I've seen two of his movies within a few days (Four Brothers and Death Sentence if you wanna give that guy a chance ;-) ) and I was just stunned how versatile he is. He is a chamaeleon. =)
Since then I've seen all his movies and he was great in each and every one of them.
And I was just amazed when I found out (heard from friends about) how nice and friendly he is.
Seriously I didn't expect him to be that kind.
So reading that he's an "ass" because he was "too focused" on his work made me go a little catty.
He stated in verious interviews that On the Road was his favorite book and he always dreamed about playing Moriarty.
He even said that he didn't work for two years after he got the job, because he just focused on that role. (it's in that great interview-->second link "anonymous" posted)
Well, I've actually written way more than I wanted to. I just wanted to state that Garrett seems actually to be a very nice guy. ;-)
Thanks again for the pictures, you really made my day!!! =)
@ Kat: Wow, you got Garret's back thats for sure hehe... I do run my own blog and yes, I agree, its very important to becareful with what we post. But MJ's my friend and I just came to her defense because I know for a fact she didnt mean to insult him.. I mean, hello?! she went to the set BECAUSE she's a fan of his work and it just seemed that people were reaaallly exaggerating on her little comment.
ReplyDeleteThis is UNBELIEVABLE!!! just say thanks for the pics and LEAVE people!! You dont like what she said? TOUGH! Not everybody is a HUGE fan of your idol... who you've never even met.
ReplyDeleteWow....talk about over reacting to a comment people! I have a feeling MJ was not being malicious towards the poor man, just stating that it could have been nice of him to even glance away and smile at "fans" that are SUPPORTING him while he was not shooting. Nothing more than that. So ladies, since we all appreciate the pics maybe we can keep the banter to a minimum!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS MJ, so cool to see the pics and our Hull looking tranformed for the film. We should go to the movies to see it, you, me and *Mia ;)

I think that Garreth guy looks like a real cocksucker. If I was his doctor, I would tell him to blow his fucking brains out. But that's just my own medical advice.
ReplyDelete"Also just because Garrett sat in the van in between takes doesn't make him a bad guy, it means that the poor dude didn't want to get hounded by the papparazzi".
ReplyDeleteAwesome, I didn't know D-list "celebrities" were followed by paparazzi. I'm sure this guy has to beg people to take his autograph. But what do I know, I'm just a medical doctor.
i know, "HOUNDED by the paparazzi"... whatever! he's lucky people showed up!! i bet he felt super important... hehe
ReplyDeleteI think that Anonymous shoved that coke bottle a bit too deep into her rectum. As a medical doctor, I've seen this way too many times. It causes the patients to become very ignorant and bitchy and usually, it's mostly the ugly women that end up in the ER with this problem.
ReplyDeleteI strongly suggest you leave right now and head to your closest emergency room because that coke bottle could end up very deep in your stomac which would make you become even more ignorant and bitchy.
Just my medical opinion.
Wow I just got wind of this blog and everything going on in it and I must say that it seems that all of you are acting like children over this matter, especially the (so called doctor) by hey that's just my opinion...
