So today on the bus to get to work, there was this little old Indian lady sitting next to me. She was wearing a white scarf, thick glasses and blue socks in her black sandals.
I thought she looked like she raised a few dozen kids. Then I thought, wow, she's probably a super cute grandma too.
Then just when I was looking at her thinking that, she reached into her bag and from a big baggie, took out a square piece of cardboard, with what looked like sheets of paper in it. So I thought, oh wow, she's gonna read her little bible here on the bus. How nice it is to have people still loyal to their beliefs, and how important it is to have faith.
Then she proceeded to open what now looked like matches. But with paper. Then she took out a small sheet of paper. It looked like rolling paper. Then I thought, Oh My God, she's gonna roll herself a cigarette, right here on the bus!! Then I thought, OH MY GOD, she's gonna roll herself a medicinal joint!!!
Then she took the small sheet of paper, and cleaned her glasses....
A look into the everyday life of an ordinary woman, mom, fiancée, sister, daughter and best friend.

Dead bird
Weird! Today our plan was to do a little gardening with Baby in the playpen outside. When I opened the front door to walk out, what did I see? A dead bird, right there on the porch! It was a black-capped chikadee (holly crap, I found a website that translates bird names: http://www.knutas.com/birdsearch/ (I bookmarked it, shhhh)). But my front door is not transparent, right, so how the heck did it end up dying there?
- It had something in it's eye and couldn't avoid flying in the opaque door.
- It ate too much pizza for lunch and couldn't control it's course.
- It had a lobotomy.
- Poor thing just had a heart attack while flying and crashed on my door step.
What do you think?
I think C.L.'s wife would love that website, eh Link? :)
Something cute today, I caught Daddy singing a Christmas song to Baby to help him sleep. It was Silent Night. Huh, who knew a man could choose appropriate songs to sing to babies, of all things!
Love, all around! xox

XXX
So, I was looking at MSN news in french, and they had an article on penises....
They have 10 short stories of men and their weird penises. I'll try and translate the interesting stuff:
They have 10 short stories of men and their weird penises. I'll try and translate the interesting stuff:
- Juan Baptista dos Santos, born 1863 in Portugal with 2 penises. He was even able to pee with both at the same time, and even have a double erection...
- In 1996, following an penile implant that didn't turn out well, Charles «chick» Lenon, 68 years old, had to live with an erection for 10 years...
- Car Carrol cut his penis in half. Why? Because he said that it brought him a lot of pleasure in his sexual life, mentionning that the separation gives his the sensation of 2 erections...
- (This one is my favourite) WIth his 9,75 inch penis, american porn actor Ron Jeremy played in over 2000 XXX movies. That won him a place in the Guiness Records. They say he had intercourse with 4000 women. He's also known for his ability to self-fellate (not sure of the term)
- (Grossest thing ever) In Japon, when a Japanese mafia member, known as Jakuza, is emprisonned, he's obligated to follow this freaky tradition: for every year of emprisonment, he inserts a pearl in his penis! It is said that it bring more pleasure to women. (Although I doubt it's a big turn on for women to see...)
So folks, that was my penis post for the year. Enjoy!!
Rest in Peace
What a day. Today, I learned about 3 deaths.
First one is someone in our community, an ex political figure who did a lot for our city. M. Robert Middlemiss. I was told he had lung cancer and that it spread to his brain.
Second touches me a lot. A girl my age I met a couple years ago, who was my friend's roommate. I learned a few months ago that her mom had a really strong cancer, but I can't remember which one. She had a rough time, but she had managed to get better. I was happy for them, because I lost a parent too, so I really felt for her. But I guess she eventually got bad again, because she passed away this morning. The good news in all this is that she had her daughter and husband with her. I think that's the best way to go, surrounded by the people you love most.
And I just read about the passing of an actor I appreciated most for his role in one of my favourite movies, "Speed", Dennis Hopper. He died at the age of 74 from prostate cancer.
So in honour of all these trips back home, I say to you: "Life is short, live it well".

Thus ends the first week of work
It's over! I survived! :)
It's now actually starting to feel as if I never left. I mean besides aaalllll the changes there has been in the past year, going to work feels just like before. I guess that's a good thing.
Baby had an amazing week at daycare too. Thanks to antibiotics, he's now his old self again. I'm thinking of bringing him to Cosmic Adventures tomorrow (Chucky Cheese kinda place, for my US friends).
I don't have much to write tonight, I'm really tired and I'd like to get in bed to read. Tomorrow is a big day, Daddy's working so it's just me and Baby!
I updated my blog's look a bit. And there's a new poll!! Look for it every time you come visit!

I did it. I'm working again!
OMG. No time to blog!!
Ok, today was my 2nd day at work. Fabulous! My first day went really well, Daddy gave me a ride to work (I usually take the bus). It was a day of setting my office up, passwords and stuff. I have a different office than when I left, so I had to get everything back to how I want it. And Office furniture, of course! I thought my day would feel super lonely and depressing, but, surprise surprise, it was not! It was a great day, setting my second home up, catching up with coworkers. I was happy to be there and the day actually flew by!
Second day, I needed coffee. Oh lord, how do people work, do house chores and have kids at the same time? Heck if I know! But I'll try to find a way to get my schnit together! Went out to lunch with my new team, which is (I'll be damned!) better than the one I had last year :) Minus Val, I miss Val. Thank goodness she works across the floor and I can walk to her office! My new team is great, laid back, smart and efficient. Stress at work will be mostly absent, we'll do great all 5 of us.
Our work tools and documents have been updated and made better. Our way to work will be way more efficient, less wasted time, more productive! I'm eager to get my hands in it! All my accesses to our software were cancelled, so it'll take a week, maybe 2 to get them all back.
I realized I missed adults :) At work, I'm not a mommy, I'm a woman, a collegue, a friend. So nice!! I didn't know I missed it until yesterday. This afternoon, the main water pipe to the building broke, so they kicked us out until it's fixed, so maybe a day or two! Isn't that a hoot!
Geez, I've been writing too long, gotta get cracking on dinner! Dolly, I hope you get my email replies, it seems like I always get new emails from you, not replies. I hope you don't think I'm not thinking about you, I am! And I have to come see your new daycare!! I'm excited to know how you're organized!
If I don't update my blog enough, yell at me: mjdufresne@hotmail.com (thanks to Dolly for reminding me!)
HUGSSSSS!
